Lady... Seriously...

So, I have recently joined a gym in order to fight off the impending spare tire of my mid-twenties. I obligingly go to these aerobics classes because that seems to be the only motivation that will get me out of the house to use my membership. The first class I ever went to I encountered a certain woman whom I saw again today and would like to share about. I feel that if I ever went on SNL I could totally make a character out of this woman.

I show up to a 9:00 am class a little early and am sitting against the wall trying not to fall asleep. I am without caffeine, without makeup, and wishing I had slept in instead of coming. In storms a very hyper lady whom I had seen once before in the first class I ever attended. The class we're about to do is zumba, supposedly a latin dance/aerobics class that I've never been to. As I am holding up the side wall, this lady begins to warm up. Just me and her in the room. No music. Early in the morning. She is doing moves that would make Richard Simmons jealous. I actually thought of sweating to the oldies watching her. She is watching herself in the mirrors, taking it all in. I fully believe that if she would have been able to high five or chest bump herself, she would have. I am trying not to stare and trying not to bust out laughing as she continues a very enthusiastic, only slightly more talented than Elaine Benice, warm up.

All during class she is equally energetic, adding her own flair to all the moves, letting out little "whoo hoo"s every now and then. The entertainment value of having her in class made it worth going. So, lady, wherever you are around Memphis, thanks for the show. I know you were equally as entertained.

My thoughts on Zumba... the instructor had a cute little figure (I am assuming from doing lots of Zumba) but I didn't get that good of a workout. I got a little bored at times.

Memphis Update

Daniel and I have settled into our house in midtown! We are enjoying our quaint rental house (built in 1935, with an addition built probably 15-20 years ago). I am trying to flex my decorator muscles, but I struggle with this! I am going to post some pictures soon.

As for our jobs, Daniel and I are both enjoying our new places of employment. Daniel is being given more and more responsibility, which is good. He is doing a very good job and likes the guys he works with. I am enjoying LeBonheur and working with mostly babies. It is very different from adult world, but it is fun. I am going to apply to UT Memphis Anesthesia School in the next month or so. I will hopefully interview with them this fall, and if I get in, I would start next July.

Daniel and I are looking forward to going to the beach in a few weeks with Mom, Dad, and Melissa! It is going to be non-stop hilarity.

I am going to try to do better about updating our blog! More pics to come...
